Actress Ruth Fischer Leads Fundraising For Polycystic Kidney Disease And Thanks Everyone For Their Support

Dear Friends,

With our final 2007 fundraising event behind us, we are delighted to announce that through the (endless!) bake sales, yard sales, cabaret performance, and direct sponsorships, our family has raised $8,753 to support research for a cure for polycystic kidney disease.

The results of our "little summer project" are beyond our wildest dreams, and we are awed and humbled by the incredible support that you all have shown.

The money raised is going directly to the PKD Foundation (www.pkdcure.org) — the only foundation in the world dedicated to promoting research to find a cure for PKD. In 2007, the Foundation will provide more than $4.2 million toward research, and $.81 of every dollar raised goes toward mission-related expenses — a truly remarkable ratio.

With adequate funding, a cure for PKD will soon be within researchers' grasp, and many of the 600,000 Americans currently living with this disease will be spared the challenges of renal failure and a life lived out on dialysis.
