Young Parents: In Search of Family Friendly Entertainment?

I'm constantly monitoring what my kids watch on television.
They are young enough that this is an easy task- they don't know how to work the remote by themselves yet, so the channel they watch is entirely up to me. Unfortunately this won't be the case for too much longer, and I'm going to have to set up those parental controls.

It seems that more and more cartoons are aiming to appeal to an older set, and I don't want my little ones watching things like this. And I'm finding the same to be true with some of the animated movies that are being released. I would not want to hear either of my kids repeat some of the things that come out of the characters' mouths.

I don't think I'm old fashioned or over-protective in my thinking. I want my kids to be exposed to wholesome things- a good message, a strong moral, and a happy ending.

I'm planning on using StageMagazineOnline.com to help me find family-friendly performances that will be appropriate for my kids. By reading the reviews of local productions, and going through the Forums, I think it should be fairly easy (fun even) to find what I'm looking for. And I'm excited to connect with other parents who feel the same as I do, and want to introduce their kids to something other than Nickelodeon or the Cartoon Network.

On the flip side, theaters can count on our site as a way to promote their productions to moms like me who feel the same way about television.

We will be listing current performances in the area so that they are easily accessible to site visitors. And the fact is, by appealing to young families, we'll all be helping the next generation get acquainted with the beauty of theater.

It's nice to know that StageMagazineOnline.com will have something for everyone. Kate
