Web Alert: Using Social Bookmarkers to Promote Your Theater
Hello there theater lovers! This is Andrew from StageMagazineOnline.com. As head of Social Networking sites, one of my responsibilities is to show our users how to make the Internet work for them when promoting their theater activities. This week, I would like to tell you about a new way to use the Web to get information about your work to others that are interested in theater. Social bookmarkers are sites that allow users to post articles, photos, and other media for others to view (think of them as gigantic bulletin boards). Other users find your work through topic searches and can add comments, as well as link your submission to related material on the Web. These sites are used by millions of people every day as a means of disseminating information.
So I know what you are thinking. How do we use social bookmarkers to promote our theater? Well, the answer is simple, quick, and FREE! Any content on your theater's Web page (or related material found on StageMagazineOnline.com) can be linked using these sites. So when you have an announcement, no matter how big or small, let the world know! All you need to do is create an free account on any or all of the sites listed below (it takes only a few minutes), link your page using the submission form, and write a short description of what you are posting. Then, anyone who searches for the terms in your description will be able to find your submission! You can also use the comment boxes to add keywords that you think people will search for when looking for theater content. The more of these sites that you use, the more exposure you will get for your theater! They also link to Google searches, which gives you even more exposure. StageMagazineOnline.com has been using these sites recently to post our own content, and we have seen some great results!
I am here to help you with any questions or concerns that you may have about using social bookmarkers. I can also provide you with a list of keywords that you can use with your submissions. Just email me (Andrew@StageMagazineOnline.com) and I will respond to you as soon as possible. Now give these sites a try, and make the power of the Internet work for your theater!
Sincerely,
Andrew S. Allshouse
