Storybook Musical Theatre Continues Season with the Enchanted Tale of "Puss 'N Boots" at the Mitchell Performing Arts Center

How many young men would trust their family cat to bring them riches, fame and the woman of their dreams?

Probably not many. But that is exactly what happens in the Storybook Musical Theatre musical adaptation of the Charles Perrault classic tale, "Puss 'n Boots," playing March 3 to March 16 at the Mitchell Performing Arts Center, 800 Tomlinson Road in Bryn Athyn, PA.

This original adaptation by Storybook's Artistic Director, Patricia Goldberg, with music and lyrics by composer, Jeff Reim is a fast-paced musical that demonstrates the importance of friendship and trust.

Tickets are $10.00 for children and $12.00 for adults, with group discounts available. For reservations or more information call: 215-659-8550.

"Puss 'n Boots" opens with three brothers dividing up their late father's estate. The older brothers get the land and the money, leaving the younger brother with only the family cat. Feeling he has gotten the short end of the deal, the younger brother is somewhat surprised to learn that not only can the cat talk, but it has the uncanny ability to create situations that
improve its master's life. In a series of clever and humorous encounters with the King, the Princess, a farmer and a very unfriendly ogre, Puss shows its master that anything is possible when you trust a friend.

Storybook has gathered five talented, local, professional actors for their cast:

Deirde Finnegan as Puss, Joe O'Brien as the Youngest Son, Jason Michael as the Middle Son and King, David Mulholland as the Oldest Son and Ogre and Rachel Brennan as the Princess.

Production Staff: Patricia Goldberg, Set Design, Kim Hanley, Costume Design, Marc S. Goldberg, Lighting Design and Dana Schmidt, Stage Manager.

Show times for "Puss 'n Boots" are weekdays at 10:15 am, Saturdays at 11:00 am and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Reservations are recommended. Children's tickets are $10.00, Adults are $12.00 with generous school/group discounts available.

All Storybook productions are appropriate for ages 3 and older. As always, everyone gets to meet the cast after each show for a handshake, autograph or photo.
