Act II Playhouse in Ambler, PA Presents World Premiere Brothers-in-Law

If you were going to present a World Premiere Theater Production, how would you possibly get the news out about it?

You have NO New York production to refer to. No reviews from previous productions. No actors making the news on Entertainment Tonight because of something he or she did wrong.

You are starting with a great script, terrific cast and directing team, but basically a clean slate.

So what did Act II Playhouse in Ambler, PA do?

Being marketing-savvy and knowing that a great play with no audience might as well not even start the first rehearsal, Act II Playhouse called a press conference to present the author, director, cast, and their own producing artistic director.

The Philadelphia Inquirer thought it was important enough to be there. The Montgomery County Newspapers arts and entertainment insert, Ticket, found it so important they sent a photography AND a reporter. And StageMagazineOnline.com was there to showcase the theater, the production, AND the high level of marketing quality expressed by Act II Playhouse through David-Michael Kenney (Managing Director), Gemma Knox (Development and Marketing Manager), and Rosemarie Deluca (Communications/PR Director).

In short: Act II Playhouse gets it. They understand how to produce quality theater AND they understand how to sell their empty seats.

Brothers-in-Law by Jeff Baron and directed by Harriet Power will have its World Premiere from March 11 - April 6, 2008. Starring will be Kraig Swartz and Tom McCarthy, who were interviewed directly after the press conference.

As Opening Night approaches, you'll be able to read more about all the awards won by the playwright, director, and both actors. Act II Playhouse will be sure you see all that information.

What THIS blog will do is introduce you to Tom McCarthy and Kraig Swartz through a short podcast. These two energetic and personable actors connect easily with each other and anyone else in their presence as you will hear. And once you get to know them, then see them in Brothers-in-Law at Act II Playhouse.

Knowing this theater, this will be another in a long run of successful productions on stage and at the box office - so perhaps you should call now to reserve your seat: 215.654.0200.
