ROAD COMPANY Brings Frederick Knott's Classic Thriller To Life In “Wait Until Dark”

The Road Company is proud to present its first drama of the 2008 season, “Wait Until Dark”  Performances begin March, 21 at the Grand Theatre in Williamstown, N.J.

Made famous by the 1962 movie starring Audrey Hepburn, "Wait Until Dark" tells the tale of a blind woman and her struggle to survive a deadly game. A sinister con man, Roat, and two ex-convicts, Mike and Carlino, are about to meet their match. They have traced the location of a mysterious doll, which they are greatly interested in, to the Greenwich Village apartment of Sam Hendrix and Susy, his blind wife. Sam had apparently been persuaded by a strange woman to transport the doll across the Canadian border.

When the strange woman is murdered, the situation becomes more urgent. Susy refuses to reveal the doll's location, and with the help of a young neighbor, figures out she is the victim of a bizarre charade. Susy knows the only way to survive is to play fair by her rules, leaving the villains to maneuver in the dark until the game ends.

Beautifully directed by Blackwood’s Phil Imbesi, local talent abounds with Clarksboro’s own Dina Spadaro as Susy; Mantua’s Ed Elder, Woodbury Heights’ Frank Myers and Berlin’s Michael Kretschmer as Mike, Roat and Carlino and Sicklerville’s Gary Kochey as Sam.

Performances are March 21, 22, 28 and 29 at 8 p.m. and March 22 and 29 at 2 p.m.  For information about The Road Company and to see a listing of the 2008 season line up, go to www.roadcompany.com.
