First Anniversary StageMagazineOnline.com YouTube Video Contest Announced: Celebrate Our First Anniversary By Making Yourself Famous!

Hello there theater lovers! Are you ready for a Celebration Contest!??

This is Andrew from StageMagazineOnline.com. As you may already know, StageMagazineOnline.com celebrated its First Anniversary this past Sunday, March 16, 2008 - that’s right, we’ve spent the past 365 days bringing you the best of theater for the greater Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Delaware areas!

While it hasn’t always been easy, we have all thoroughly enjoyed working with the theater community and finding ways to make your theater experience better!

The StageMagazineOnline.com staff (including me) have all thought long and hard about a way to celebrate this special event and SHARE IT WITH YOU, the theater community. Since you are ALL creative people, we want to let you use that creativity to make something special! Something lasting. Something that supports theater - both theaters and the individuals who love it.

So after many hours of deliberation, StageMagazineOnline.com announces (drumroll please):

Think of it: YOU or your FAVORITE THEATER a STAR on YouTube!

To enter, all you need to do is create a short video (maximum length: 2 minutes) and post it using your YouTube account. This video can be about ANYTHING (the sky is the limit here, people!), and can be scripted or improvisational.

You may make the video by yourself, or in a group. You can mention the name of your favorite theater, or promote yourself as an actor, director, or theatre technician. All we ask is that you mention StageMagazineOnline.com at least once in your video (or show our Logo somewhere in the video). And we have five other items needed…

To make things interesting, we have added a twist: the following five items must appear at least once in the video you submit:

1. A set of keys
2. A pair of sunglasses
3. A lamp
4. A phone
5. A pair of scissors

(Remember to SAY or WRITE StageMagazineOnline.com OR Use Our Logo somewhere visible in your video.)

You may use these items in any way you would like, as long as they make an appearance in your video! (Be careful with those sharp scissors!)

Now, I could be like George Carlin and list the seven words that you CAN’T use in this video, but I would rather save us all the decency and remind you to be tasteful in creating your video in both language and visuals.

To enter our contest, send me the link to your video on YouTube.com once it is completed. When the entries are here, a panel of judges from StageMagazineOnline.com will review all videos and decide on the winners.

Videos will be judged on creativity, as well as compliance with the above rules and conditions. We will post all the winners on our site and let the whole world know that YOU created it.

We will choose FIVE winning videos, who will receive the following prizes:

One GRAND PRIZE winner will receive:

* a set of headshots or a Lobby Display for your theater by StageMagazineOnline.com founder and professional photographer, Charles Seymour Jr. (You can see some of Charlie's Lobby Displays on our Facebook Page.)

* a free Platinum membership for ONE YEAR to StageMagazineOnline.com OR if the video is created by a theater, it will win a full year FREE at it's own level on StageMagazineOnline.com (could be valued at well over $1000).

* two tickets to a Penn Presents production at Annenberg Center (details to be worked out with the winner!)

* and the winner will be our StageMagazineOnline.com Official Video Representative to a HUGE party and Street Fair in Ambler this spring, which our friends at Act II Playhouse are running. You get to go FREE and then have your SECOND video posted on our site!!

This prize package is valued at over $700.00 if won by an Individual and over $1,000.00 if won by a Theater.

Four entrants will be given HONORABLE MENTION, and will receive: a ONE YEAR Platinum membership to StageMagazineOnline.com, valued at over $200!
