Special Alert Blog for StageMagazineOnline.com - What's Happening in Theater The Week of March 24, 2008
Friends,
Theaters 2008 - 2009 Seasons are almost here!
How is your planning for next season coming? Do you have all of your productions lined up? Have you started your sales materials so that when your big Spring 2008 production is being shown you are "selling" next season from the stage?
I put "selling" in quotes because even if you don't give a curtain speech about your next season's productions telling your audience that it can pick up your new brochure in the lobby, just having your materials available (to what might be your largest audiences) is vitally important. And the production on the stage in the spring will have a great deal to do with who purchases season subscriptions from you for the Fall - if they LIKE the production on stage when they learn about next season, they are MUCH more likely to purchase from you.
And have you put next season's productions into your membership area here on StageMagazineOnline.com? Have you followed our lead with creating a Facebook page about your theater? Are you building your email list and direct mail list so that you can stay in touch with your subscribers next season?
Wow - so many people think that all they have to do is present quality productions and the word will get out about them (making them a successful theater): there's so much more, isn't there!
1) Actors - Free Seminars by Movie Indutry's Best at New Hope Film Festival
Some of our friends in New Hope want to share this with our theater actors:
Free educational seminars taught by some of the film industry's biggest names are offered in conjunction with New Hope Celebrates Film Festival on April 26 and April 27, 2008.
These workshops delve into topics including directing, producing, screenwriting, casting, acting and post production.
All 90-minute programs are FREE but require advanced registration by April 15 at www.NewHopeCelebrates.com. Also see the site for their exciting Festival Film Lineup !
2) Our Facebook PAGE is talking about YOU!
Earlier I mentioned our Facebook Page. These "Pages," as opposed to the Facebook "Profiles," are searched by Google, seen by the non-registered public, and are a growing way for theaters to get their word out to thousands in the area who don't know you.
Are you using Social Marketing to promote your theater? We are using it extensively on your behalf and you should see what we are doing. StageMagazineOnline.com's Facebook Page - Please Click Here To See Us On Facebook and Become a "Fan"! [To be a "Fan" doesn't mean you have to be a groupie and follow us around screaming our name. It just means that you will be kept informed about what is going on it theater AND you'll learn first hand what we are doing in the Social Marketing arena.]
