Disney's Beauty and the Beast at PCS is already selling out some performances - get your tickets now!
The Players Club of Swarthmore Theater is ending its season with the musical extravaganza, Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Of course, the love story is being mounted in classic Players Club of Swarthmore fashion with over fifty talented performers!
Belle and her Beast will thrill and delight fairy-tale lovers of all ages. Since the theme of the story is you can't judge a book by it's cover, it's fitting that the heroine is a bit of a bookworm. Belle is accustomed to looking beyond the external, so she can see that the dreamy-looking Gaston is a bit of a brute. But even her powers of observation are challenged by the frightening Beast.
Director Theodora Psitos has mounted several Players Club hits and her work attracts talent from all over the Delaware Valley. Making her PCS debut in the role of Belle is Stephanie Lauren of Philadelphia; she's paired with Robert Welch of Wilmington, DE, as the Beast. Some of their supporting performers include: Richard Cipollone, Jr. of Conshohocken, Paul Weagraff of Wilmington, DE; Joseph Spiecker of Horsham, Cara Latham of Radnor, Tom Halley of Wallingford, Andrew Nadkarni of Media, Donna Dougherty of West Chester, Terry D'Andrea of Royersford and Brian M. Walsh of Drexel Hill.
The Players Club has planned extra performances for what is sure to be a big seller! The Sunday, April 27th performance has already sold out and seats for other performances are going fast, so reservations are recommended. Two 7pm Wednesday shows (April 30 and May 7) have been added to the usual schedule, plus Saturday matinees on May 3 and 10. The entire run is April 24-27, 30, April 30-May 4 and May 7-10.
