Actress Ruth Fischer Leads Fundraising For Polycystic Kidney Disease; Cabaret Evening Planned for The Players Club of Swarthmore September 8, 2007

Note from Charlie Seymour Jr:

Ruth Fischer has been an actress all of her life - some in the Philadelphia area and some in New York. She and her husband, Michael Steven Schultz, have been active at The Players Club of Swarthmore for many years. Ruth, her father, and a member of the next generation are battling Polycystic Kidney Disease, for which there presently is no cure. StageMagazineOnline.com supports Ruth (and others in our Theater Community) with their fundraising efforts and hope that we can lend support by getting the word out to a much wider audience.

To the Editor:

Last weekend our family held a fundraising yard sale to benefit research for a cure for polycystic kidney disease. Through the generous support of our friends and neighbors and with the weather on our side, we raised an amazing $700 in five hours! Many Swarthmore and Wallingford residents contributed items to sell, and several of our Drew Avenue neighbors lent tables and moral support during the huge undertaking. Words cannot express our appreciation to them, and to the folks who stopped by to shop.

In addition to the yard sale, we will continue to sell cookies and lemonade on the Co-Op patio on Saturday mornings through the end of August. And on September 8, there will be a special cabaret performance (including a prize raffle) at the Players Club of Swarthmore to benefit this important research. Seating will be limited, so we suggest reserving seats at pkdcabaret@zmulls.com, or by calling us at 610-328-3391. We hope to see you there!
