An Open Letter to High School Theater Directors
Dear High School Theater Director,
Wouldn’t you love to get your entire community excited about your school’s latest production?
Wouldn’t you be thrilled if Opening Night was SRO?
Wouldn’t all your hard work, and that of your student performers, be worth every ounce of sweat if you could read glowing reviews from members of your own community?
Isn’t the whole reason you pour your heart into these productions because you love theater and want the students to learn to love it too?
When you have that rare moment to think straight, haven’t you ever wished there was one place that could offer all these benefits and more?
Your wish has been granted. Welcome to StageMagazineOnline.com, the revolutionary, first-ever-on-the-planet, ‘all theater, all the time’ web site dedicated to promoting and supporting your local high school productions.
Our doors are being literally banged down with local theater owners, performers, and supporters of all ages who want to participate as Members in this incredible Theater Community. We’re so happy you’ve decided to join us!
Here’s a brief overview of what your Membership can do to help you and your student performers get the support and recognition you need for your high school productions:
FREE, Platinum Level Membership to start! Individuals are automatically enrolled at the Platinum Level, where they can take full advantage of every benefit of membership listed here.
Individual Talent Files for each Member! Students and others involved in your high school productions can create a personal Talent File profile, including acting credits and an audio preview for viewing by theater owners and managers who are looking for someone just like them. (And Mike Lemon is watching us too!)
Interactive Call Board! Theater owners and managers can post open positions for performers and staff members on the Call Board. This information is updated regularly, and Members are notified as much as two months before the actual audition date. Combined with the Talent Files and our Private Message Board, theaters and performers now have a “private pipeline” to communicate and discover each others’ needs to the benefit of area theaters.
The amazing Quik*Bucks program! Member may enroll in this program and earn MONEY for referring new Members to the web site, including friends and teachers. It’s so simple and such a great way to benefit your school and the community and pick up some extra cash.
Community Reviews! Reviews are a big part of what we do at StageMagazineOnline.com. Our Theater Community Members can attend and review any local production, including high school, college, university, community and professional theaters in the area, and other Members can comment on their reviews. Talk about FREE advertising for your productions! And recognition! And praise! Your student performers will be thrilled to see their name in print and to hear what others have to say about their performance. This is also an excellent option for Drama classes who would like to gain more experience in writing reviews, too!
Our Community Forum is another incredible feature of Membership in StageMagazineOnline.com. Just let your fingers do the walking to find props, costumes, and other items Members are offering for use or sale. You’ll be surprised how easy it is to find that hard-to-find item you’re fretting about!
Our valuable special Member feature, Legends in Theater: One of the many benefits of Membership is access to a Members Only section of the web site, Legends in Theater, where interviews and podcasts with some of the area’s top theater people are preserved forever. Photographs, programs, stories, and the spoken voices of the famous and well-traveled in area theater productions are available for this generation and preserved those to come. What a welcome addition to your Drama Club!
Unannounced Free Giveaways! Members wishing to gain more recognition for their Theater may donate items to our Unannounced Free Giveaway contests. Each day, we offer special Unannounced Free Giveaways like theater tickets, books, photography, voice lessons, and more. It sure pays to visit the site early and often!
Aren’t you thrilled that you joined StageMagazineOnline.com?
Wherever I’ve gone, whatever I’ve done in connection with any of our high school theaters, I’ve noticed some common threads:
1. High school teachers and students are always welcoming and eager to have people attend their shows.
2. Teachers and students are very proud of all their hard work.
3. High schools seem able to pull off excellent shows on a shoestring of a budget!
4. Most often, I hear the need for bigger audiences, more resources, more recognition, and more help.
You’ve already become a Member in this exciting Theater Community. Now all that’s left to do, if you haven’t done so already, is sign up right away for the QuikBucks*Referral Program. It takes less than five minutes and all the instructions on what to do next will be sent to you shortly. You’ll be well on your way to enjoying all the features and benefits we offer.
